Agilent, Caliper launch new lab-on-a-chip kit

Nov. 5, 2002 — Agilent Technologies Inc. and Caliper Technologies Corp. announced the launch of a lab-on-a-chip kit for RNA analysis.

The companies said the RNA 6000 Pico LabChip kit is useful for analyzing microdissected samples, where only a few cells are being collected for RNA extraction. The kit, designed for use with the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer, has applications in cancer research, according to a news release.

The kit price for the analysis of 300 samples is $499. Shipments are expected to begin Nov. 15.
