China launches new nano-focused industrial park

Nov. 25, 2002 — A new industrial park in northeastern China seeks to become an international research, development and marketing center for luminescent and nanotech materials, according to Xinhua, the official Chinese news agency.

The Dalian Luming Luminescent Industrial Park, whose scientific and technological tower was completed Sunday, is expected to generate $600 million to $1.2 billion in revenues during the next five years. About 20 domestic and foreign entities have expressed interest in setting up business in the park, the report said.
