Micronics, Weidmann sign microfluidics deal

Nov. 14, 2002 — Micronics Inc. and Weidmann Plastics AG said they signed a deal to jointly develop and promote products based on their respective microfluidic and microfabrication expertise.

Micronics, based in Redmond, Wash., said the alliance provides its clients with small, injection-molded features on their lab-on-a-chip and other fluidic devices. Weidmann, based in Rapperswil, Switzerland, said Micronics’ microfluidic patents and ability to provide rapid prototyping of disposable products extends what Weidmann can offer to its customers, according to a news release.

Investors in Micronics include Ardesta LLC, parent company of Small Times Media.
