Stanford, FEI launch nano facility

Dec. 23, 2002 — Stanford University has teamed up with FEI Co. to create a Nanocharacterization Facility.

Stanford has bought FEI’s Strata DB 235 small stage DualBeam and will have access to its XL30 Sirion scanning electron microscope. The microscope also will be used for FEI’s customer demonstrations.

The deal is part of a university plan to create a set of shared research facilities that will provide instrumentation to faculty in numerous disciplines.
