Analog names new MEMS VP

Jan. 31, 2003 — Analog Devices Inc. has named William Giudice vice president and general manager for the Micromachined Products Division, which includes MEMS product development and manufacturing.

Giudice most recently was president and chief executive of Telephotonics. Before that, he was co-founder and CEO of Maker Communications. He also has held sales and management positions at AT&T, Hewlett Packard and LSI Logic, according to a company news release.

Analog this week also launched the latest and cheapest version of its MEMS accelerometer. The ADXL311, which sells for $2.50 in quantities of 10,000, is a dual axis accelerometer that can measure both vibration and gravity.

Applications include consumer electronics and toys, sports and health-related devices and blood pressure monitoring equipment, the release said.
