DuPont arm to use Agilent’s biochips

Jan. 15, 2003 — A DuPont subsidiary plans to use microarray systems developed by Agilent Technologies for understanding genes related to complex plant processes.

Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc. will use Agilent’s Custom Microarray Program to construct a series of snapshots of how genes express themselves during specific stages of a plant’s life. Pioneer will analyze the microarray data using the Rosetta Resolver system, distributed through Agilent, according to a company news release.

Pioneer said it seeks to use the data to boost product breakthroughs for farmers.
