Colibrys ends distribution deal with Honeywell

Feb. 5, 2003 — Colibrys SA is establishing direct sales channels in North America for its MEMS accelerometers, ending its distribution agreement with Honeywell International Inc., according to a company news release.

Colibrys officials said in the statement that the accelerometers, which had been sold under the Honeywell brand name Flex ASA7000 since July 2001, have been designed into many infantry, missile and smart weapon programs. The company said the Honeywell alliance was a good initial step, but a direct sales network allows Colibrys to maximize its competitive position and resolve supply conflicts.

The Swiss-based company supplies standard MEMS products and services, including design, manufacture and test.
