Samsung SDI to launch DNA chip

Feb. 11, 2003 — Samsung SDI Co. Ltd. said it has developed a DNA microarray device for disease diagnostics and biological experiments, according to AFX News.

The South Korean-based digital display maker said the microarrays evolved from coating technology developed for its displays. The company plans to begin volume production this year, with expectations of selling more than 300,000 units.
