Altair, Western Michigan share $1 million

March 20, 2003 — Altair Nanotechnologies Inc., a Reno, Nev.-based supplier of nanocrystalline materials, and Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Mich., announced they will share $1 million in federal funding for research aimed at developing chemical, biological and nuclear nanosensors.

The funds should be available by the end of April, according to a university news release. They will support the nanosensor program as well as one directed toward development of a remediation agent for radioactive waste.
