Analog gyro gets industry recognition

March 7, 2003 — Analog Devices Inc. has received two industry awards and could nab a third for its iMEMS gyroscope, according to a news release.

Electronic Products Magazine and analogZONE.com each named the ADXRS150 gyro product of the year. Electronic Products recognizes products that provide advances or innovation in technology, design or price-performance; analogZone selects its winners based on merit and marketability, the release said.

Analog’s gyro also has been named a finalist in EDN Magazine’s “Innovation of the Year” awards program. Winning products will be published in May.

Analog said its gyro, launched last fall, is the first commercially available device to integrate an angular rate sensor and signal processing onto a single chip. The gyro, which sells for about $10, is small enough to be put in handheld computers and other battery-powered devices.
