BEI signs $10.5M deal with Rockwell Collins

March 5, 2003 — BEI Technologies Inc. has signed a $10.5 million deal to supply Rockwell Collins Inc. with MEMS sensors for aerospace applications, according to a news release.

The agreement, part of a six-year relationship between the companies, calls for BEI’s Systron Donner Inertial Division to provide Quartz Digital Inertial Measurement Units. The systems, enabled by rate and acceleration sensors, are used in commercial aviation, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and tactical missile applications.

In September, BEI split its Systron Donner group into automotive and inertial divisions to concentrate on the two markets. The automotive division focuses on automotive stability control, rollover and emerging system markets.
