cGMP meeting cancelled due to war in Iraq

MARCH 27–ROCKVILLE, Md.–The Food and Drug Administration is combining the agendas of two meetings of the Manufacturing Subcommittee of the Advisory Committee on Pharmaceutical Science since the panel’s March 21st inaugural gathering was cancelled because of the war in Iraq.

The combined Manufacturing Subcommittee meeting has been tentatively scheduled for May 21-22, and the FDA is expected to outline its progress on the “Pharmaceutical cGMPs for the 21st Century: A Risk-Based Approach” initiative.

The decision to cancel the meeting, according to the agency, was also “likely prompted by the heightened terror alert and possibility of travel difficulties.”
