March 13, 2003 — Crossbow Technology Inc., a San Jose, Calif., provider of wireless MEMS sensor networks, announced the launch of its “Smart-Dust-Service” program to provide technical support and consulting services.
Under the program, users of wireless motes, developed at the University of California, Berkeley, can receive support from Crossbow. Mike Hortin, Crossbow’s chief executive, said in a news release that Crossbow has already been supporting users of Berkeley-developed motes but that the new program is intended to make support more widely available.
The program includes free assistance getting started with motes and paid consulting services for custom projects.
