Veeco launches epitaxial process integration center

March 10, 2003 – Woodbury, NY – Veeco Instruments Inc. has opened a 15,000-sq. ft. epitaxial process integration center (PIC) adjacent to its molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) manufacturing operations in St. Paul, MN.

Veeco said that the PIC will advance compound semiconductor epitaxial technology, as well as provide Veeco’s equipment and/or processes to augment customer production operations.

The PIC contains both Veeco R&D and production MBE systems. It also features Veeco’s broad portfolio of MBE sources, as well as a set of optical, electrical, and structural characterization tools.
