Nanophase launches new nanomaterials

April 11, 2003 — Nanophase Technologies Corp. is commercially producing what it is calling a new class of nanomaterials.

 

The Romeoville, Ill.-based firm said in a news release that the nanocrystalline rare earth oxides have several potential applications, including fuel cells, chemical-mechanical polishing, catalytic converters and catalysis. The firm produces the nanomaterials using a patented technology called NanoArc Synthesis, which boosts stability and performance, the release said.
