SI Diamond reissued nanotube patent

April 10, 2003 — SI Diamond Technology Inc. was reissued a U.S. patent for using carbon nanotubes in flat-panel computer and other monitor displays.

Reissuing the patent, first secured in 1994, gives the Austin, Texas-based company stronger and more focused language that would help it enhance its nanotube portfolio, the release said. Winstead Sechrest & Minick, a Dallas-based law firm, assisted SI Diamond with the effort.

SI Diamond subsidiary Applied Nanotech Inc. develops nanotubes for displays, medical cathode devices and hydrogen and other sensors.
