Aramark buys garment cleaning technology

MAY 19–BURBANK, Calif.–Garment maker Aramark has purchased and is now providing U.S. automobile manufacturers with a patented paint technology that removes almost all paint from a garment without reducing the life of the fabric.

Aramark purchased the U.S. licensing rights from Exfoliation Systems LTD and will be the only provider of the technology in the U.S.

Mike Fadden, Armark’s senior vice president, says automotive customers have “always looked for improved ways to remove paint from garments because of complaints from their workers who say the old paint makes the garments hard, brittle and very uncomfortable.”

“Customers who use garments in a particulate sensitive, controlled, paint spray environment are very pleased with the results,” he adds.

“We have been using this technology for many years at our Cleanroom Garments division with great results in Canada and Europe,” says Rob Nightingale, president of Exfoliation Systems.
