Crossbow, a San Jose, Calif.-based provider of MEMS-based wireless sensors, will market Needham, Mass.-based Sensicast’s Sensimesh evaluation and development software. The deal allows buyers of Crossbow’s wireless motes to begin collecting and viewing sensor information with a simple user interface, as opposed to directly working with open source software developed by University of California, Berkeley. Applications for the sensor networks include military and security surveillance and force protection.

Sensicast was launched in December with $3 million in initial funding from Ardesta LLC, the Ann Arbor, Mich.-based parent company of Small Times Media.
