Virginia law firm forms nano team

May 7, 2003 — A Virginia-based law firm is joining the growing list of practices devoting a group to nanotech.

Burns, Doane, Swecker & Mathis formed a team of nine lawyers, scientists and patent agents that will advise clients on nano-related research and development as well as business issues, according to a company news release. The Burns Doane Nanotechnology Team combines experts who have been working independently in the field since 1999, the release said.

Other law firms recently launching nano groups include Atlanta-based Arnall Golden Gregory and Chicago-based Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione.
