Altera unveils ASIC devices

June 23, 2003 – San Jose, CA – Altera Corp. has launched a new family of low-cost mask-programmed devices.

The HardCopy Stratix line offers hierarchical clock structure, memory, and optimized embedded DSP blocks to measure timing, performance, and power estimates, and has a 60%-70% reduced die size compared to its Stratix FPGAs device. The HardCopy Stratix line is manufactured on a 0.13-micron CMOS process through a partnership with TSMC.

Altera will begin accepting customer designs in Q303, with volume pricing ranging from $25 to $120.
