JUNE 30–NASHUA, N.H.–While travel advisories continue to be lifted in areas throughout Asia Pacific where severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) has finally come under control, ongoing global concerns as well as restricted company travel remain, prompting CleanRooms China 2003 to be rescheduled from its July timeslot to Dec. 12-13 at the Shanghai International Convention Center.
James Enos, vice president and group publishing director of the CleanRooms Group, says the CleanRooms Group wants to ensure the health and safety of all those associated with CleanRooms China, first and foremost.
“We know that the SARS virus is a matter of major concern to all attendees, exhibitors, speakers and participants in CleanRooms China,” he says. “Considering the health situation and the impact on both domestic and international travel throughout Asia, we feel this global epidemic will have a negative impact on all aspects of our event in July and prevent us from delivering a high-end product.
“We also realize the SARS outbreak is a fluid situation that changes from day to day,” Enos says. “In working with our local partner in Beijing, China Electronics Appliance Corporation (CEAC), we were able to secure December dates at the same site.”
CleanRooms China Conference & Exhibition in 2003 is geared toward users of contamination control technology in semiconductor, microelectronic and life sciences manufacturing. The event is owned by the CleanRooms Group, a division of PennWell Corp., and operated in cooperation with the U.S. Commercial Service of American Consulate General, the Shanghai Science & Technology Department of City Government and CEAC.
In addition to the CleanRooms China, CleanRooms Group also manages and produces five other tradeshows: CleanRooms East, CleanRooms West, CleanRooms Europe, CleanRooms Asia, and CleanRooms Puerto Rico. CleanRooms Group publishes CleanRooms magazine, CleanRooms’ Master Source Guide, a bi-monthly E-newsletter and various related online products and printed supplements.
