JUNE 6–ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich.– FANUC Robotics America, Inc. has teamed with Biomation of (Madison, Ala. )to market FANUC Robotics’ LR Mate 200iB Cleanroom robot and related software products to life science manufacturers and diagnostic laboratories.

Biomation is the Life Sciences Group of CTA Inc., and specializes in robotic systems integrator specializing in precision coating as well as a variety of robotic material handling applications for the aerospace, defense, and plastics industries.

Biomation’s staff of engineers and biologists concentrates on the development of turnkey robotic systems for applications such as drug discovery, biogenetic research and analysis, and diagnostic procedures.

The LR Mate 200iB Cleanroom robot is the latest in a line of cleanroom products FANUC Robotics has offered since 1984. The robot has six degrees of freedom, and a cleanliness rating of ISO Class 4 in optimal conditions, and ISO Class 5 in all other conditions. The LR Mate 200iB and its predecessors have an installed base of well over 10,000 units worldwide.

In addition to laboratory automation, the LR Mate 200iB Cleanroom robot is an ideal material handling solution for a wide range of industries including pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, optical/magnetic media, flat panel displays, clean injection molding, and others where particle emissions and grease leakage must be tightly controlled.
