Pacific Nanotechnology adds LabVIEW language

June 17, 2003 — Pacific Nanotechnology Inc. has added the National Instruments’ LabVIEW software to its atomic force microscopes (AFMs) to customize and expand the capabilities of the instruments, according to a news release.

Santa Clara, Calif.-based PNI said LabVIEW, which stands for Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workbench, is a graphical programming language that has been adopted for data acquisition and instrument control. The software controls all of the functions in the AFMs, including the optical microscope, scanner and X-Y sample positioner, the release said.
