Ultratech steps into new name

June 6, 2003 – Ultratech Stepper Inc. is changing its name to Ultratech Inc. to reflect its growth into markets outside of its core photolithography and optical stepper markets, according to a news release.

Stockholders approved the change Thursday at the company’s annual meeting. The San Jose, Calif.-based company, which trades on the Nasdaq, closed Thursday at 18.89, down from 19.35 Wednesday.
