Motorola pioneer joins ZettaCore’s board

July 10, 2003 — Former Motorola executive and researcher Herb Goronkin has joined ZettaCore Inc.’s board of directors, the company announced.

Officials at Denver, Colo.-based ZettaCore said Goronkin’s strong technical and engineering experience should help move its molecular memory technology to market. Goronkin said ZettaCore’s technology will overcome many obstacles to progress in memory technology, according to a company news release.

Goronkin, who left Motorola in June after 25 years, was its vice president and director of research in charge of the Physical Research Labs in Tempe, Ariz. He spearheaded several corporate programs to miniaturize electronics, including efforts to commercialize magnetic memory, or MRAM.
