July 17, 2003 — Former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres confirmed that he will be a keynote speaker in September at the World Nano-Economic Congress in Washington, D.C., according to a news release.
Peres’ presentation is called “Perspectives on Scientific and Technological Leadership.” He has written and spoken about nanotech research and development as an engine of economic development.
More than 80 people have agreed to speak at the conference, including Nobel laureate and nano expert Richard Smalley, and U.S. Reps. Mike Honda, and Brad Sherman, both California Democrats.
