STEC inks sensors, vacuum deals

July 14, 2003 – STEC, Kyoto, Japan, has signed a pair of deals to boost its profile in the US. STEC has agreed to take over manufacturing and sales rights, as well as all assets of FuGasity Corp., which makes flow controllers and calibration systems. STEC has also signed a deal with Ferran Scientific for technical cooperation and sales rights for the startup’s vacuum analysis instruments. The partnerships are designed to expand the semiconductor and liquid crystal process offerings of STEC and its parent company, Horiba.
