ASAT opens China facility

August 18, 2003 – Semiconductor assembly and test services provider ASAT Holdings has officially opened a new 225,000-square-foot facility in Dongguan, China, 65 miles north of Hong Kong. The facility will initially produce the company’s leadless plastic chip carriers and fine pitch ball grid arrays, with full production scheduled for the end of 2003. Phase Two of the facility’s building plans call for an additional 320,000 square feet of space.
