BioTrove launches new service for drug screening

Aug. 13, 2003 — BioTrove Inc., a Woburn, Mass., developer of microfluidic devices, has launched a second technology for rapid processing of molecular data in drug discovery, according to a news release.

The Momentum Screening Service is designed to perform high-throughput-screening mass spectrometry. The system processes fluidic samples continuously, incorporating liquid-handling stations designed to carry out assay protocol in a robust, automated fashion, the release said.

Momentum joins BioTrove’s Living Chip, which conducts rapid and parallel nanoliter-scale liquid processing for ultrahigh-throughput screening and storage.
