DuPont forms IC fab business

AUG. 11–RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.–DuPont Electronic Technologies has formed of a new business unit, DuPont Integrated Circuit (IC) Fabrication Materials.

“Today, we are extending our electronic materials capabilities into the burgeoning advanced materials segment of IC fabrication,” said David B. Miller, vice president and general manager for DuPont Electronic Technologies. “We are confident that this new business…will extend the strategy to grow our IC fabrication materials portfolio within DuPont Electronic Technologies, where technology starts.”

Jerry Coder has been named president, DuPont IC Fabrication Materials.

JCoder, formerly president of DuPont EKC Technology, a manufacturer of remover and CMP chemicals used in semiconductor manufacturing, brings extensive industry experience to DuPont IC Fabrication Materials.

He will be responsible for driving strategy, managing the network of businesses currently serving the IC industry, and directing growth into new areas that leverage DuPont materials technology.

“The essence of DuPont Electronic Technologies strategy is to exploit the synergies between its existing IC fabrication materials businesses and R&D programs to create an expanded portfolio of highly engineered and differentiated materials for advanced IC manufacturing,” said Coder.
