Goronkin named co-chairman of NanoBusiness board

Aug. 8, 2003 — Herb Goronkin has joined the advisory board of the NanoBusiness Alliance.

Goronkin, a former Motorola executive and researcher, serves as the New York-based alliance’s science and technology chairman. He joins former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich and venture capitalist Steve Jurvetson as a board co-chairman.

As vice president and director of research in charge of Motorola’s Physical Research Labs in Tempe, Ariz., he spearheaded several corporate programs to miniaturize electronics, including efforts to commercialize magnetic memory, or MRAM. Last month, he joined the board of directors at ZettaCore Inc.
