Infineon, SMIC forge memory deal

August 25, 2003 – Infineon, Munich Germany, plans to contract with Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp. (SMIC) to manufacture memory chips with 0.11-micron processes, according to wire reports and the Taiwan Economic News. SMIC will use 193nm production processes to build the chips, ranging from 0.11-micron to 0.14-micron.
