Siemens to expand China factory

August 9, 2003 – Siemens AG says it will invest $30 million to expand manufacturing capabilities in its mobile communications factory in Shanghai.

The facility, run with partners China Mobile and China Unicom, is the second production location for Siemens’ third-generation wideband CDMA technology, and deepens the company’s presence in China, the world’s largest market for mobile communications devices with 234 million customers.
