STMicro to increase India operations

August 9, 2003 – STMicroelectronics, Geneva, Switzerland, plans to increase the employee pool at its R&D plant in Noida, India by 36% to meet growing demand for its design team. The increase, scheduled to be completed by 1Q04, will boost the company’s domestic work force from 1,100 to 1,500 employees. STMicro also reportedly plans to add 70 people to its telecoms team, according to RDSL Asia.
