Applied Nanotech to demonstrate nanotube TV

Sept. 23, 2003 — Applied Nanotech Inc., an Austin, Texas-based research and development company focusing on carbon nanotubes, will unveil a 14-inch black-and-white television  based on nanotubes in December at a conference in Japan, according to a news release.

The presentation, at the International Display Workshop 2003 in Fukoka, Japan, will allow the company to showcase improvements in its carbon nanotube electron emission technology that it first demonstrated last year. The company’s reported breakthroughs include techniques that lower the cost of making televisions and characteristics of electron emission from nanotubes that make the devices compatible with standard computer chip-making manufacturing processes, the release said.

Applied Nanotech is a subsidiary of Nano-Proprietary Inc., formerly known as SI Diamond Technology Inc.
