Sept. 23, 2003 — Bacterial BarCodes Inc. will market its Agilent 2100 bioanalyzer as part of its DiversiLab System for detecting and tracking bacterial infection or contamination, according to a company news release.
The Houston-based company is combining its DNA fingerprinting technology with Agilent Technologies Inc.’s microfluidic-based system and Caliper Technologies Corp.’s LabChips. Bacterial BarCodes, which signed a joint distribution deal with Caliper in 2001, said the combined technology in the DiversiLab system enables identification of bacterial strains in as few as four hours, a process that can take several days with other systems.
