ECA: Orders up in August

September 15, 2003 – Electronic component orders rose slightly in August compared with previous months, but the 12-month moving average remains flat, according to the Electronic Components, Assemblies, & Materials Association (ECA).

ECA president Bob Willis points to the recent US GDP numbers which showed growth in the second quarter, but says the anticipated industry recovery continues to wait in the wings. Still, he said, “up is better than the months of flatness and slight downturns we’ve been experiencing.”
