Matsushita to expand in Singapore

September 15, 2003 – Matsushita says it will invest over $85 million in its operations in Singapore. One third will go towards manufacturing CCD image sensors, the first such facility in Singapore, according to Agence France-Presse. The remainder will be spent over the next three to five years for expanding capacity of its LSI and other devices, as well as R&D. The investments are expected to increase the company’s domestic workforce by 60%, or approximately 400 new jobs.
