Siemens expands microbeam business to Taiwan

September 11, 2003 – Siemens Dematic hopes to strengthen its business for microbeam lasers with a new sales office in Taiwan. The center will help domestic companies complete pilot applications, and will eventually explore sales partnerships in the region. Microbeam lasers are used to create tiny drillings for bonding circuit path levels.

“Asia is giving us the really decisive technological impulses for our business,” said Udo Wiggermann, head of Siemens Dematic’s electronics assembly systems and substrate technology segment.
