Sinomos ships equipment to China

September 16, 2003 – China’s Sinomos Semiconductor Ningbo Inc. is moving equipment into its facilities in the southern Yangtze delta region, with plans to expand operations there, according to local reports. The 6-in. facility was purchased last year from AsiaTech, who originally acquired it from TSMC. Sinomos reportedly plans monthly output of 30,000 chips/month, with future expansion to include two new plants for 6-in. and 8-in. wafers.
