Applied Micro buys IBM line

September 29, 2003 – Applied Micro Circuits Corp., San Diego, CA, has acquired IBM’s packet routing and switching product line for approximately $47 million. IBM will continue to manufacture the PowerPRS Switch Fabric product for AMCC as part of its foundry business. The two companies are also negotiating the sale to AMCC of IBM’s French affiliate for about $3 million.
