CleanRooms West 2003—held September 22-24 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.—gave contamination control professionals the chance to get a first-hand look at products and services designed to improve cleanroom practices. Sterile alcohols

TexShield sterile 70 percent isopropyl alcohol and sterile 70 percent isopropyl alcohol with WFI—used for surface cleaning, cleaning gloved hands in sterile suites and wiping down items for pass through into a controlled environment—are packaged using the SteriShield Delivery System. According to the company, the system holds the liquids inside an ultra-clean, medical-grade, polyolefin bag that does not allow air to be drawn back into the bag when the trigger spray mechanism is operated. Testing shows the contents remain sterile for three months after first operating the trigger.

Reactivity monitor

The Lighthouse Reactivity Monitor's copper and silver-plated quartz crystal microbalance sensors measure the mass accumulation of corrosion films formed from the reaction between contaminants and the sensors. This method of measurement indicates the reactivity level of an environment with contaminant levels at or less than one part per billion. The product gauges in real time the level of AMC present in a local environment and transmits data directly to the building management system. Data can be used to establish AMC trends, identify AMC episodes and determine effects on yield.

Anti-skid tape
The #1167 anti-skid tape does not have paper liners and it does not contain sand. The construction is an over-laminated embossed vinyl tape. The adhesive is residue-free and works on all surfaces. It can be applied around wet workstations and can be used on the plastic sheeting that protects some construction jobs. The tape is available in gray and black and in various widths.
