Fairchild purchases Raytheon unit

October 20, 2003 – Fairchild Semiconductor, South Portland, ME, has agreed to purchase the RF components division of Raytheon Co., Lexington, MA, for an undisclosed amount.

Fairchild has also bought Raytheon’s foundry partnership to produce GaAs wafers, an equity stake in WIN Semiconductor, and access to foundry and support services at Raytheon’s Andover, MA, facility.

Fairchild says the deal will add $5 million in revenues per quarter by 2H04.
