FSA opens Asia-Pacific office

October 23, 2003 – The Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA) is establishing its new Asia-Pacific headquarters in Taiwan, as part of a plan to expand its global presence.

Taiwan was chosen for its high population of fabless companies and start-ups, foundries, and infrastructure. The new initiative, headed by newly-appointed Asia-Pacific executive director Dr. Jeremy Wang, includes educational events, forums, and a suppliers expo. It will also collect data from local IDMs and fabless companies for addition in various FSA reports, including those for wafer pricing and fabless funding.

The FSA has also established an Asia-Pacific Fabless Leadership Council, initially made up of Taiwanese fabless companies and a Korean representative.
