Philips execs move to buy plant

September 26, 2003 – A group of former managers from Philips is angling to purchase the company’s plant in Albuquerque, NM, which had been designated for closure on October 11.

The New Mexico State Investment Council has approved a $15 million government investment in Mesa Semiconductor Inc., giving it a 33% stake in the firm and bringing the total investment in the plant to $35 million. The 400-employee plant produces analog and digital signal chips.
