Silterra sees strong demand

September 24, 2003 – Wafer foundry Silterra Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. says it has received “record bookings” during 3Q, mostly for its sub-0.18-micron technologies, and predicts “robust customer demand” for 4Q03 and through 2004.

The company says utilization is over 90% at its Fab 1 facility, and plans to expand manufacturing capacity to support ramping up of sub-18-micron technologies. Silterra also plans to open new offices in Kuala Lumpur, Germany, and Korea in 2004.
