UMC sells equipment to UMCJ

October 17, 2003 – Taiwan chipmaker UMC said it has sold $11.4 million worth of semiconductor equipment to UMC Japan, according to Dow Jones. The deal, for unidentified equipment, netted UMC roughly $460,000 in profit, the company said in a statement to the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
