(November 20, 2003) San Jose, Calif.—North American-based manufacturers of semiconductor equipment posted $871 million in orders in October 2003 (three-month average basis) and a book-to-bill ratio of 1.00, according to the October 2003 Express Report published by SEMI. A book-to-bill ratio of 1.00 means that the value of new orders equals the value of product billed for the period.
