Applied NanoWorks licenses RPI nanotech

Dec. 3, 2003 — Applied NanoWorks Inc. has licensed technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) enabling fabrication of nanomaterials for semiconductors, cosmetics, composite materials and other applications, according to a news release.

Applied NanoWorks, a Watervliet, N.Y.-based RPI spinout, secured the exclusive global rights to two patent-pending technologies for high-volume fabrication of nanocrystals. The technology will bring nanomaterial capabilities that deliver high levels of engineering control in a mass-produced performance material, the release said.
