Transfer agreement speeds up cleanroom construction

DEC. 22–TAIWAN–Color filter maker Allied Material Technology Corporation (AMTC) has signed a polarizer technology transfer agreement with South Korea-based LG Chemical, according to company chairman Charles Yu.

Through its photoresist subsidiary Dery Resources Taiwan, AMTC has set up Dyma System Taiwan to speed up construction of a cleanroom and enter polarizer volume production in the first half of next year.

Yu said he does not rule out AMTC and another subsidiary, panel and color filter photomask provider Allied Integrated Patterning Cooperation (AIPC), becoming major shareholders of Dyma System Taiwan.
